ATi FireGL

This page will show all objects that classify as ATi FireGL. The FireGL has been made by ATi, a company that makes graphics cards and has been on the block for quite a while (1985). ATi started with EGA and VGA cards long time ago and continues to develop high-end 3D chipsets till this very day. ATi's first 3D accelerator was known as the 3D Rage which technically was a Mach64 with some 3D functions. This didn't turn out to be real speedy but in combination with 3Dfx accelerators it went really well. After a bunch of Rage cards ATi launched the Radeon, a brand name that ATi still uses for today Radeon HD products.

ATi has been acquired by AMD in 2006 but still sells graphics chips under the ATi-flag.

Quite a powerful card back in half 2002! This red beast is based upon ATi's R300 chip which was used in the succesful Radeon 9500 and 9700 series. Those cards were launched in August 2002.

This sample is compareable with the Radeon 9700 Pro. It has a rework on the back and an extra DVI port that can be removed (the little green PCB). Notice that the extra DVI port is upside down. > Read more
